2007 Children's Wish recipient, 12-year-old Logan, presents Graphic Communications Group President Dean Johnstone with a plaque recognizing the company's support for the not-for-profit organization.

GRAPHIC COMMUNICATIONS RECOGNIZED

Advertising, web, design, and social media marketing company Graphic Communications Group was recently recognized by the Children’s Wish Foundation for its contributions to the not-for-profit foundation. At a ceremony held at the Delta Prince Edward Hotel, the PEI chapter of the Children’s Wish Foundation presented Graphic Communications President Dean Johnstone with a plaque acknowledging the company’s years of support of the organization.

Says Children’s Wish Chapter Director, Beth Corney Gauthier, “Graphic Communications Group has been a source of support for us since our first developing years and have taken our ideas and needs and made them graphically appealing. Every ticket, event program, CD cover, and signage for our major fundraising events over the years have been developed under the care of the Graphic Communications Group staff. They always have welcomed us with the attitude that ‘anything is possible and nothing is a problem’. Their support has contributed to the success of the Foundation and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them.”

Presenting the plaque to Graphic Communications Group was 12-year-old Logan, a 2007 wish recipient. Johnstone says that being presented the plaque by someone who has benefited from the foundation was “an extra honour and a powerful reminder of why businesses like Graphic Communications Group donate to the Children’s Wish Foundation.”

The presentations were given in celebration of the Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada – Prince Edward Island Chapter’s 25th Anniversary. 25 local people, organizations and businesses were selected for their significant contributions to the foundation. Coincidently, 2009 also marks Graphic Communications Group’s 25th year in operation.

Earlier this year, the Children’s Wish Foundation contacted Graphic Communications Group to produce an illustration. It was not until after the company had donated the finished illustration and received its plaque that Johnstone discovered the illustration was used on not just his company’s plaque, but on all 25. Adds Johnstone, “Attending the presentation ceremony, I was amazed by the good company we are in regarding the other recipients. There are Islanders who have single-handedly raised tens of thousands of dollars for Children’s Wish. Now that’s impressive.”
